I got to bf my baby today for the first time    
it was so surreal
like he was just sucking away and i kept thinking
"wow this is MY baby, that I CREATED"
it was so bittersweet because the baby next to us in the NICU had passed and i heard them tell the mom
i was about to cry
i couldnt even imagine
on the other hand it made me grateful that my baby was alive and well

ok this is actually a question
how long did your nipples hurt for after you started pumping or bfing?
i know its normal but ouch!!!

3.How long were you sore for after your c-section?
on my right side it stings so bad sometimes
is that normal? kind of feels like i tore a stitch or something
i know i probably didnt but just wondering

yay for getting to BF
and that is sad about the baby in the other room =[

that's so sad that the baby passed away   but my friend said she always felt like her stitches were gonna rip open if that's what you mean.. i know a lot of people who said the same thing so i guess it's normal.. & i was sore the whole time i was pumping. use lanolin or w/e it's called.. it works.

I hurt the 1st 6 weeks. Try Lasinoh cream, it helps! IDK about csection, sorry.

My C-section hurt for the first month. And breastfeeding, my nipples hurt for two weeks.

So, are they bottle feeding him there? or is he still on a tube?

And is he still on the respirator? Hopefully he can come home wednesday!

I plan on bf my baby as well. I was told your nipples can hurt due to the baby not latching on correctly. Maybe talk to a lactation specialist at the hospital and see if the baby is latching on correctly. If so, then try lanolin by Lansinoh I heard it is the best. I have already bought a box just in case. Congrats on breastfeeding.

they told me to put breast milk wherever it hurt and that helped a lot too. the mom was there when her baby died? what even happened? that's so sad   i'm glad that didn't happen when my son was still in there cus i would've cried

Can you adjust the suction or the speed of the pump to be more comfortable?

no they arnt bottle feeding him because i am going to breastfeed so they dont want to confuse him and he isnt supposed to be there that long
if he was ogint to be there for a few weeks they would give him the bottle but he is proably coming home this in the next week   so yeah he is still on the tube for now
hes off all oxygen and breathing on his own
hes off all his antibiotics as well
he is [retty much on his own   he is going to the well baby nursery either tommarrow or the next day

we went in at the same time and and they told her when she got there
it was heartbreaking
they had to get the dividers out and i could jsut hear her and her mom bawling
i really felt for her

i have only been pumping since wednesday so i know it might hurt for a little bit i was jsut wondering how long it typically hurts for

the pumping is really harsh on the nips, I pumped to reliev pressure and OUCH!!! if you can get the pressure a little lower, then do that....I wore nipple shields so my sore raw (and bleeding!) nipples wouldn't rub my shirt! they hurt for a good 3 weeks, and I cried through feedings...I'm not telling you that to scare you, but rather to warn you. Hopefully you have no latching issues, and they start to hurt less soon! COngrats on getting to nurse him, isn't it a great feeling!!!!!!!!

and I'm sorry to hear about the other baby! that is so sad!
