Mucus plug

Probably a dumb question but do you have to lose your mucus plug to go into labor?

Sometimes you won't know you even lost it. Or you won't until you are in labor.

Nope. I didn't lose mine (have the "bloody show") until after I had been leaking amniotic fluid for 24 hours and had been in the hospital on Pitocin for 3 hours....

Youre right. You dont have to lose it before labor starts, but you do have to lose it before you deliver.
