My first is turning 3 this month, and my youngest just turned 4 months old today, so right about 3 years apart. I love the age difference, my oldest understands so much, and he's a great big brother. I wouldn't have done it any younger, I think it would be harder. Not sure about further apart though.

That's exactly what we want. We figured hopefully by the time the new baby comes along Cassidy will be potty trained, fingers crossed!!!! lol She loves babies that come over & stuff, but I'm not sure how she'd react to having one live with us.

Over 3 and a half years. You aren't over reacting i had the same worry and have had to deal with jealousy issues.

My daughter will be a few days shy of 4 when this baby is born. I think it's a great age because she fully understands the idea that there's a baby in my belly. She helps me set up the baby items and shop for them. And she's super excited to be my helper and help pick baby's clothes, put on his socks, give him a bath, and play with his rattle with him.

My boys are 18 months apart. I've noticed with others that the further apart they are, the jealousy seems more prevalent. But I am sure it depends on the kid and they way the parents treat both older child and new baby.

Good luck!!

My daughter and my soon to be step-daughter are nearly 2 years apart. (I've been in her life since she was 6 months old) When I was pregnant we bought her a book about being a big sister and some baby dolls that came with clothes, diapers, bottles, crib, etc. Although she was that young we would point to my belly and say "Brooklynn" and she would repeat us. Now that Brooklynn is here, every time she sees her she gets a huge smile on her face and says her name.   It's the sweetest thing. She always helps out and personally I think she feels more loved because she gets to help out with her little sister. She's always trying to hold her and give her toys. We love both our girls so much and Layla doesn't even notice that we don't get that much time with her anymore because she's so concentrated on helping us with Brooklynn. We also make sure that Layla gets to spend time with us individually like she used to. It was a fairly easy transition and our family feels like it was always supposed to be this way.

Thanks! I'm just going to try & include her in as much as I can. I'm hoping she'll be okay with everything. We ask her if she wants me to have a baby & she says yes, so hopefully she'll still feel that way when it's born. lol

My boys are 2y &2m apart. They are 5&3 right now. It was a hard couple of first months. After that they are good friends, entertain eachother well & fight a bunch.
I love their age difference. It was very easy to potty train the older one, he didn't want to be a baby anymore.

i have a 6 year old a 4 year old and one due feb 14. i kind of like that my kids are going to be older when my new baby is born because i think it will be a little easier becasue they are more independent. if they were closer together id probably go nuts lol. plus both of them will be in school this year

They.are 10 and 4 and 6 m old.
my oldest was jealous of my now 4 yr old and she still is. But it has to do with the fact the her dad abandoned her and my middle.and.youngest have a dad who visits them. But she is not jealous of the baby...my 4 yr old doesn't even notice the baby is here lol she really does not care about the baby at all lol

Our children are about 5 months apart and I worry about how they are reacting, both coming from single children homes and suddenly sharing everything.

That's awesome! I hope Cassidy is that way. That's my biggest fear with having another baby. I just want her to know that we still love her just as much as we did before.
