Yea i give my 2 yr old the ipad when i need to do dishes or something. He gets right into youtube for music videos lol. He hates t.v, and most other things tho. Theres also flashcards which he enjoys doing.

I'm debating on buying a second iPad, only because I want one ofthe newer ones, and plus when me and the twins take road trips, they can watch their own shows, they like to fight over mine when i let them watch movies and stuff on it.

We are getting an iPad (Probably used) for HER use. She has speech delays and behavior problems and both therapist seen to work better with her using the iPad so why not? We still planning to buy new ones for personal use(mainly school).

No, I want to encourage my child to read and express herself in artistic forms. Something like an Ipad gives everything to you, no imagination needed. Plus, it's an expensive and delicate device.

This!
My son just turned 4 and spends most of his day pretending and making his own movies. He will actually get out his notebook, draw the pictures, write some words, and then act out the scene. Plus he can now read up to the step 3 books for kids. I have never given him a game or anything to play. But my sister came to stay and let him play on her phone and then that whole week that's all he wanted to do. He stopped reading, and pretending and would fight with us when we would set a 10 minute time limit. I'd rather my kids create their own ideas and read than play games. Even if it's on long car rides. My son does the same thing, makes up stories and tells them to us

agreed. Also, if I wanted trendy devices as a kid/teen, I had to buy it myself.

that too is something we starting doing with our 4 year old. We buy our kids toys at Christmas and their birthday. If he wants a toy in between that he needs to get some money from his piggy bank and help pay for it. He was so proud when he marched up to the counter at Walmart with his dollar and the new car he wanted!

I wouldn't ever buy my child an iPad, even if he was 16+. I bought all my own pieces of technology (phone, laptop, etc.) and I'm going to continue that with my child. If he has a job or has saved up enough money, he'll be free to buy somethin' like that.
