How do you break a toddler from biting? He has been biting so much the last week. It is driving me nuts!

It may sound bad, but bite him back.

I started tapping my sons mouth and telling him NO THANK YOU! He no longer bites now. Lol. Glad I got him out the habit. He'll have a baby sister in jan and I don't need him mass murdering her with his teeth. He's 13 months and has 12 teeth. So when he bit. It HURT. lol

My son is 14 months and we also have the issue of biting. We have tried saying no biting and ignore it (he didn't care), tried putting him in time out (that just confused him), I bit him back ONCE (that confused him and we both ended up in tears) and the only thing that works for awhile is making a huge deal about it. Like when he bites me I scream in pain and say you bit mommy that hurts! It scares him and has made him cry but, it works the longest out of anything else! and he learns that it hurts. When he starts biting I do that and give him some teething tabs bc it seems like he bites the most when his mouth is hurting from teething. However I am going to try tapping his mouth and telling him NO THANK YOU next time that sounds like a good idea!
