ohh TC is so beautiful! i live in Mt. Pleasant. near the middle. I dont think i could ever do the UP either, but it is so pretty!

ya, I won't say it's not pretty. It was gorgeous, I lived on the lake. But I HATE snow. We got MAYBE 3 months of nice weather and then it was back to being cold and then eventually turned into the North Pole. It would take me over an hour just to get ready to leave to go somewhere because I had to shovel my way out of the drive, shovel and de-ice my car. Bundle DD up in a million layers to get her to the car, just to have to unlayer her to be seated in her carseat correctly. And it would take 30 minutes to get somewhere that was 8 minutes away.
I guess if you grow up like that you don't know any different. But I didn't, I know BETTER, I know there are other places to live.

Back from our last childless anniversary trip. We went to Bodega Bay. It was nice. Beautiful. We got this awesome picture of Alba's name written in the sand with the ocean and sun in the background. We're gonna print it, frame it, and hang it above her crib.

Speaking of car seats, what's everyone planning on using?

We're going with a Britax B-Safe till she's bigger (probably about 6-9 months). Then we're going to switch to a Britax Advocate 70-G3. I just can't steer away from the Advocate's side impact protection. It just keeps pulling me back even though it's super big & bulky and quite costly. I'd rather be inconvenienced and pay more money than to risk my daughter not being fully protected.

my mom got me a cosco comfy carry infant seat. i plan on buying a nice convertible one once she outgrows the infant seat.

I got a graco something.   I'll have to look when I get up.

I contemplated a Graco because they're cheaper and easier to find. But the stroller I want is mostly compatible with Britax car seats (it's a Britax B-Ready)...and the B-Safe was rated high in Consumer Reports. So I figured we'll go the Britax route.

I don't need a double stroller, but that's what I love about the B-Ready. If we have another kid within the next 3 or so years, we don't have to buy a whole new stroller. We can just purchase the extra seat for the B-Ready and keep using the same stroller.

So I could do this when our second child is in an infant seat...


And then this when he/she gets old enough...


But for now, Alba will get the stroller to herself...

oh man, you guys are nice lol. no way am I pushing Rocco's ass in a stroller, that stopped years ago
