Quoting Ry's Mom ♥:" How do you keep your anxiety down? Does it trigger your need to go? Yesterday I had an incident where ... [snip!] ... go and cant find a bathroom on my way there etc etc. Im at the point where I need 15 immodium / day. Can anyone else relate?"

I do a lot of dry runs of my new places before I have to be there so I don't get bad attacks. Somethings (like court....I obviously can't do) i'll fast the night before hand and snick-snack that morning and then actually eat after so my urge to go is lessened by a lot and more manageable.

I hope that helps!

Thank you so much! I had my last bite to eat at 9:30. I wake up at 6 am and start taking pills everyy 30 min until i have to leave at 10 or else it wont do anything. I was good today so far but I just have that feeling where i ate something bad, like my tummy hurts and its the kind of feeling like you would get before your bum blew (poops) lol.   I dont feel like myself at all so im hoping tomorrow goes smoothly.

They are starting to work less which is why I'm so nervous. I used to take 6 a day and be ok now I'm at almost 15 or at 15 :-( cant be good. I had a colonoscopy in June and the laxatives made my problem worse I feel like it irritated me more so I was just starting to get the confidence to go out and the. This happened :-( as long as I make it to work tomorrow again than in fine (hopefully) for the rest of the day. I haven't been eating till I get home cause I'm scared. I just want to get my hair done tomorrow I'm going to check out the times I have to walk to the salon and figure out where to walk et to ease my mind a bit

In some cases Anxiety and Stress cause Flares(or make flares worse) just as much as food, drink, diet, ect. would.

Ohhhh. I was reading this and was confused, because I have both & Celiac. So I didn't get what this had to do with them.

Ya some people don't know about that. I unfortunately have the trifecta with my IBD.

It hasnt been diagnosed yet, they think its ibs or chrohns. Colonoscopy seemed normal, and i had a celiac test but like, if i dont take immodium every day i will go atleat 10-15 times a day and i could have not eaten for 2 days and still go that much. Its nothing specific, a sip of water could trigger it, no diet has worked nothing. Immodium is starting to not even do the job. Anxiety really makes it worse though.

Celiac, Crohns & IBS, won't make you go a million times a day. They give you horrible, horrible stomach pains because you're backed up and can't go. That happens when you don't follow your diet. I'm constantly in the hospital with I'V's and a feeding tube trying to clean me out. The pain is unbearable. If your colonoscopy came out normal, then you don't have any of them. Celiac, a blood test will tell you yes or no. All of these are easy to detect. You might have a spastic colon. Are you seeing a GI specialist?

Excuse me, but Crohns and IBS and IBD can go both ways. It can block you up or it can give you the runs. I've had these conditions for YEARS, So don't try to come in here and tell her she is wrong, just because they haven't found what her root trigger is yet doesn't mean she is in the wrong.

This! I've had severe IBS for 7 years and it definitely goes both ways.
