leftover hcg.

I am really uncomfortable with what my doctor told me today about my blood test being at a 6 and it's been nearly 10 weeks since my surgical abortion. I was 9 weeks 0 days at the time. I'm wondering if it is possible that there is still some tissue? Also, on July 30th, my HCG was 10.7.

Hcg usually takes the same amount of time to leave the body as when created, if that makes since

She was just the nurse. My doctor won't be in the office until tomorrow, and the nurse said she bets it's from the abortion. Why is it taking so long for it to come down from 10? I'm not convinced. Do you think I could request an ultrasound to see if something is stuck?

Could be possible or also could be your body is just taking time. I was 12 weeks when ultrasound showed fetal demise at around 11wks and opted for d&c same day. Hcg was 98,000 and went to 0 in less than 2 weeks. Would think though they would ultrasound after procedure thats what they said they did for me after d&c after body wouldnt rid

they should definately do an ultrasound.....if they draw your blood again and the hcg is still elevated.
