I "THINK" it sounds like a good deal .. I would go check it out..and make sure whatever carseat you are using can fit into the backseat  

Yeah. Make sure you look up the blue book value and make sure it's worth it and also figure out the mileage on the car first.

After that, I'd get a mechanic to check it out and also get a carfax report.

that is a great deal aslong as there is nothing wrong with it. i would have it looked over with a fine tooth comb. i know alot about cars. my dad and step dad are both mechanics. thats a great deal believe me

Should I put in an offer?

it probably has a salvage title, which means it's been wrecked and rebuilt but there was frame damage at some point. PLEASE get a carfax report and/or take it to a mechanic BEFORE you make any offers/final deals on this car...there's no reason for it to be that cheap unless something is wrong.

Umm no, do not put in an offer for that. The price is SO incredibly low, there is something wrong with that car or the person is wanting to scam you.

he didn't even list the mileage. he HAS to be leaving something out.

Yeah! It's almost scary how low it is! Definitely do Car Fax, have it checked out, find out the mileage before you do anything...

The car has tiptronic, I bet the owner screwed up the transmission using the manual part of the tiptronic by trying to race it or something. I think it's safe to say that you need to find a new car because there is something very wrong with that car and I don't want you or your daughter to be involved with any of that.

Maybe shoot him off an email and ask him what the VIN number on the car is. I think you can go to carfax.com and get some info for free with just the VIN number, but to get the full report you have to pay. Also, ask him why he "must" sell the car to see what kind of response he gives.

me too! my 8 year old car is worth about that and it has over 100K in miles on it.

Why don't you just ask him why it's so low?! That seems to make the most sense to me. Maybe he just forgot a 1 in front of the price, I've seen it happen before!
