Personally, I think all cars should come standard with breathalyzer ignitions, so that you cannot physically start your car if you're over the limit. To go somewhat off topic for a second, here, it's all well and good to give information about preventing drinking and driving. We all know it's bad, and most of us will swear we'll never do it. But, get seven beers in us, and maybe we're thinking differently. All the prevention information in the world doesn't do much good when you're drunk, and nobody is there to stop you or talk sense into you. The only effective way to stop it is to make it impossible (and while I realize you *can* get a sober person to breathe into it for you, I'd like to imagine most sober people would not do so, even if it happened sometimes it'd be a lot less than now) for people to physically drive while drunk.

Yeah, my FIL have one in his car due to several DUI's and he has to breath in it to start, after 3mins of driving and every 30-40mins after that. It's also registared to read his "sucking in" and "blowing out" of the air. So in the event there is a difference in the air capsity it willl registar and send a report to his PO.

this reminds me of a police officer who killed two young people who i went to highschool with recently. The police officer got paid leave for being under the influence!! NOTHING happened to him. They went to court and he was let go. WTF is up with the law??

There's a code of silence inherent in all gang-like organizations. You don't sell your brothers out. It's just how it is.

Ok, but when your "gang" are the ones suppose to be up holding the law, then turn around and breaks it......come on? You can HONESTLY say that it's alright to remain hush hush about it?

I do agree with you, but I see the other side as well.

They do that sometimes because they might have to get somewhere fast and don't have time to wait at the light.....

I don't see where she was saying that it is alright, However just merly stating that "the thin blue line" is there.

Is it right, no. Does it happen, yes.

Like she said it is a 'brotherhood' mentality.

I get really tired of seeing people blame police officers for their bad decisions, it's 'your' fault you got caught, suck it up and face the concequences.

Where I come from, when police officers are accused of something they stand trial, just like everybody else. (I used to work in my counties courthouse, I have seen it)

I understand the "code of silence" or the "thin blue line" (I don't necessarily agree with it all the time)
