They don't stop!

I had my daughter March 4, 2008 and boy oh boy! The bills just keep on coming!! I didn't know I had to pay for the Bilirubin test! Geez! That's not the only one though. Oh..and my epideral cost more than my hospital stay AND the doctors bill! Goodness.

thank god for healthy start. i woulda sank in bills w/o it. the first 5 months i had regular anthem through work, and wooh...i had some bills as well!

What is healthy start?  

Do you insurance?
I was lucky enough to be on medicaid for my birth (and I didnt even know it! haha), so I didnt have to pay anything.

medicaid...they just call it healthy start in ohio. you can still get them to help...it can go back as far as three months if you qualify for it.

I know how you feel with the bills. We had insurance but I had to pay the first $1500 out of pocket for my self. Then we had to pay another $1000 out of pocket for my daughter.

I doubt we will. And I wish we could get medicaid.   But we do have insurance..but still..the bills definitely add up!

I know! It's crazy!! We've paid a couple thougand already out of pocket..and we're still getting 1-2 bills DAILY!!

And it doesn't stop, ever!

We are still getting bills and by the time one thing is paid for something else comes up!

20 weeks....so about 5 months.

I'm not getting the interthecal next time. Too expensive and it didnt work!!

I figured out how much we would have to pay out of pocket with our insurance and put it in a health savings account at work so it will be tax free. I recommend this if you can, it saves you about 30% depending on your tax rate. I understand that some people don't have insurance and need help from medicaid, but someone is paying, even if it's not you. Healhcare cost effect everyone now. I guess that's why this is such a big issue in the upcoming election.....

sorry don't want to brag but....Thank God for free health care up here!

I can't even imagine paying to be in the hospital unless I wanted a private suite.
