i know how you feel!!!..me and my cousin always wondered who would have babies first and we talked about names together and when she got pregnate first she named her son Drake...which is what i always told her that i would name my son when the time came!!...and then i had my son and picked the name Talon as my sons name..what does she do?...have a daughter and name her talyn!!!....prounounced the same but spelled differently!!!....talk about GRRRR!!

When it's repeated like that, it's hard to believe it's just a fluke. Especially with a name like "Ozzie" (I love it, but I'm sure many will immediately connect it with the Osbourne of the same name). I have had cases where I see or hear a name, and just adore it, and you can't help that. When I try to think of baby names, I try to avoid any of people I know (especially those I happen to dislike), but it's so hard! Example--I LOVE the name Elliott, but my husbands ex-friend's brother was named Elliot, so he (hubby) won't let me use it. Naming a child is complicated enough without people like the one the OP described.

my husbands the same way. I love the name lucus for a boy and he was deployed with a guy named Lucus (don't know if it was his first or last name) that he hated so now I can't name a boy Lucus bc it will remind him of that guy. Soo sad!

That definitely seems like she has some issues. I have a cousin like that. You'd think family members at least wouldn' do that to you, but naturally, my cousin cannot think of anything for herself.

Isn't it sad for them that they don't know what's good until they see somebody else who uses it?

Just keep the name to yourself and husband. That way she cannot steal it. LOL
