Quoting BabyMachine29:“ hahah Germs..1st time mommy syndrom..
LOL That's so true. I hate the idea of germy people touching my clean little boy.
As for the OP - Personally, I followed the Czech tradition which is that the mother stays at home for 6 weeks after the baby is born and that the only people that get to see the baby are immediate family (no crazy aunts, drunk uncles, etc.
). It was great because it gave me a chance to get myself together a bit.
At the same time, I think your idea to have your baby in a sling and close to you is fine. BUT, good luck to you....before my son was born, I imagined he'd be as easy to deal with as my dog was when he was a puppy...
I was so wrong. Everytime I'm ready to leave the house with him, he poops his diaper. When I change him, he decides he's hungry again. Then I have to go the bathroom. And on and on it goes. The smallest trip becomes a huge undertaking that needs to be planned with military precision. So, you might be grateful for your mom's help if she's willing (germs or no germs from other people).
