Actually, there is no cure for parvo. You can only treat the symptoms and hope it goes away. I have seen dogs get parvo more than once, it just isn't very common due to the immunity they build up to it after the first time.

Thank you, we are cleaning everything with bleach that we can. Saddly I don't think there is anything we can do about the carpet. I have already shampooed it and will steam clean it as soon as I can. Is there something better than pedia light for fluids?

Thank you for the warning I thought once they had it they couldn't get it again. I will make sure I am extra careful cleaning everything. It would be awful to have them suffer and survive only so they could get it again.

That is what we used at the hospital. I would just mix about 2 parts pedialyte with 1 part water. It will make it a little easier for them to handle.

I feel helpful on here for once. I can never help with baby stuff, dogs are my specialty. I have two poodles..lol They are my babies!

I was giving it to them straight I will try it like that. Maybe they will like it better. They seem to like it cold. I have even go so far as to giving them I cubes. They seem to like those better. How old are your poodles? Do you think they will accept your new baby. Or do you think that they will be jealous?

Yes and please remember it is EXTREMELY CONTAGIOUS.
at the hospital parvo cleanup was the worst. We didn't have to go all out often. Only in the heartbreaking cases, but when we did we would have to close down the Isolation area completely (where parvo dogs were kept) cover ourselves in trash bags, tie trash bags over our shoes and BLEACH EVERYTHING. Then use some other cleaner, that I can't remember the name of. We would have to crawl out of the window in the room (couldn't walk thru the hospital and risk contamination) take off our trash bags and put them in a trash bag with bleach, poor bleach on the ground where we crawled out at, and bleach the bottom of our shoes. We would throw away the bags go to our cars, cover our seats, go home avoid our pets, shower and come back in. Thats how serious parvo is taken. Despite what people believe, there is an 80% survival rate.

It's very rare for them to get it again, so I wouldn't worry too much, however don't bring any new puppies into the home for about 6months-1year. Some people recommend pouring a bleach solution outside, I wouldn't do all of that, but would recommend a lysol spray for the carpet. It doesn't kill the virus completely, but It does help.

Good luck hun. When I worked at a kennel we got hit pretty bad- I quit there because no one knew what they were doing and it never should have happend. We really only lost the older dogs. I'm sure your babies will be ok.
Just love them extra, keep up dilligently with their meds, and bleach everything!
Wear a mask and gloves so the bleach doesn't make you sick!)
