The honest to goodness truth- regardless of if what others are saying is true and that you're only 36 weeks, not 40, is that if baby isn't ready to come there is no true way to really self-induce. Baby will come when your body is ready. Trying different induction methods that some people have used and swear by is just asking for trouble. Doctors get angry because you make their job much more difficult and you make the labor experience MUCH more dangerous.

If you are only 36 weeks, take it from someone who delivered a 36 weeker- you DON'T want your baby to come now. It was so scary when my baby started having trouble breathing because she didn't have enough surfactant in her lungs. I didn't even get to look at her before they took her off my chest and whisked her off to the NICU...if you are overdue, your doc will talk options with you, but usually just a few days over your due date isn't a big deal...they won't start worrying until your a week or more past your due date and your amniotic fluid is starting to get low. Let your doctor do their job and get baby here safely for you and for them!
