Speak for yourself.
No one said they didn't want stretch marks because they planned to be a stripper. I don't give two smurfs if the free world never sees my stomach but I don't want them because I'd rather not have them. Sometimes people live to please themselves and I'm one of them.

I aim to please myself as well, but I don't need to complain about marks made by my child growing within my body to do so.

OK
It's one of those things you hope you don't get but deal with it if you do. Hoping you don't get them doesn't make you a bad or undeserving person.

I was just looking for something to prevent them, because I don't want them ...but their genetic so theirs really nothing you can do if you do get them! I'd rather not have them though because no offence but their kinda ugly..but its nothing to be really ashamed of because alot of people have them, but me I DONT want them!

Really,do you enjoy being at the beach? getting naked infront of your spouce and feeling sexy, I enjoy those things! And I know I wouldent quite as much if I was marked up, however If i did have them, i wouldent be ashamed, I never went into it exspecting to come out perfect, I wanted a baby, it is more important to me then my body, but with that said, I didnt get any, and I am quite fond of my un marked body! Alot more so then If I did get them. Just my personal feelings towards it. I religiously used cocoa butter hopeing I wouldent get any stretch marks. Im sure if you had the choice, to come out of your pregnancy looking like you did going in, you would chose not to have them, so dont comment about people being silly for wanting to prevent them.

And I totally hope I didnt offend any one, Im just stateing the obviouse reasons in which some of us might not want them! (since you basically asked!)

Sorry this is so delayed but I had to get some shopping done

I just don't understand the people that get them and whine and complain.

Do you think it's unacceptable for a skinny person or attractive person to complain about their weight or looks?

I think looks are too big of a thing these days, yes. I'm just one of those people like you said, that do things to please myself. Just because someone said something looks unacceptable or I've been told to believe that I shouldn't want certain things on my body, doesn't mean I give a smurf about what other people think or say. Do you think back in the day stretch marks were such a big deal? It just kind of makes me sad that people think that they're not beautiful or less beautiful because of marks left by bringing a child into the world.

Dude
I could feel that way from burning my stomach on the stove. It's not really right to agree or think one thing or another is right when it comes to someone being critical of their own looks. Their own. Not anyone else's. It's impossible to know how women felt years ago because the technology field has advanced so greatly that it's more apparent now than it's ever been. Because trust that at the end of the day a woman has always been a woman and "we" have always had the same concerns.

Everyone has their own opinion & their own body, some rather not have marks, while some could care less, we all have our own body, so it shouldnt be a big deal if we DONT want marks on us!I would rather be able to still wear my bikini after my pregnancy..because I'm still young! But that MY opinion not everyone else's!I mean I don't even like little scars left on me when I scrape my leg or something, it just irritates me! But then again that's MY own opinion!

I just dont think there is anything wrong with taking pride in the way you look, when you look good, you FEEL good, thats a fact! Maybe you just never cared much about how you look? not saying theres anything wrong with tthat, But iv always cared about the way I look, I strive to eat healthy and avoid food full of fat! I enjoy being nakend because I FEEL good about the way I look. Im sure you know a handful of girls that are insicure with their bodies after having a baby, its sad, but thats what happens, why? STRETCH MARKS and weight gain!

Also I understand what your saying, but this forum is whining and complaining about how someone looks, it was about how to avoid stretch marks, how to avoid somthing that she doesnt want. I my self did what I could to avoid it.
