2nd trimester sickness

posted 16th May
I am in my 15th week of my first pregnancy, and started having evening sickness about a week ago. I noticed it only when I was in the shower. In my first trimester I was nauseated all the time but never got sick. Now I can hardly eat dinner because I feel like I'm gonna lose it. However I never feel nauseated I just get watery mouth and have to rush to the bathroom. I can deal with it but I'm just wondering if anybody else has/had "delayed" barfing in their pregnancy.

I have been sick off and on my entire pregnancy. Eat small amounts thru the day to stay "full" and stop eating about 1 hr before you normally get sick. My Dr also told me to eat what I wanted. Not to worry too much about how healthy it was. Just to make sure I was eating. I am expecting twins and have only gained about 25lbs. She said as long as it was food I knew I could keep down it was a bonus. I get midnight sickness once in a while too.

I sure hope you can get past the sickness. It is normal though.

Quoting no longer empty arms:“ I have been sick off and on my entire pregnancy. Eat small amounts thru the day to stay "full" and stop ... [snip!] ... it was a bonus. I get midnight sickness once in a while too. I sure hope you can get past the sickness. It is normal though.”

I normally try to eat only waht sounds good just because I am pretty sure I can enjoy it and have had no problems keeping anything down, till now. I just thought I was getting away easy! I'm gonna try the stay full trick and see if that helps. I just hate missing dinner because then I am hungry all night! I don't want to eat too late. It makes it hard to get comfortable, then again if I'm hungry I'm uncomfortable too.

I was sick sick sick from about a week before the test came back positive until about 20 weeks. Then I was okay again until about 28-29 weeks and I've had a mild case throughout the 3rd trimester. There doesn't seem to really be a "normal" when it comes to "morning sickness." I wish I could tell you I found something that was a miracle cure, but it was allusive. If it's mostly at night and you would rather be drowsy than sick you can ask your OB about phenagran. I found it worked pretty well but it did make me very sleepy. Zofran did okay (not great I was still sick a lot on it) I could take it and still get work done, but it's pretty expensive even the generic and my insurance limited it to like 10 pills per refill so I was always having to go to the pharmacy. Good luck and I hope you find relief soon!
