If its a new one, boil for 10 mins....other wise boil for 5 mins. I know with bottles you boil them after every use (at least thats what I was told, but I nursed). I used to boil paces once a week but my son never had thrush.

I did.. thats how I got the for sure diagnoses that he has thrush.
But i need to boil his bottles/paci's to get the yeast off them or else it'll just be kind of an oxymoron to give him medicine but give him infected bottles/paci's...

In that case I would boil them often. Like when you take the pacie away to give him his meds, give him a clean pacie and boil the old one. It will stelize in 5 mins. I would sterilize the nipples after you use them each time!

How bad is it? If you caught it early, it's probably painless, but later it gets painful and itchy. I would boil his paci's daily and bottle nipples after each use, at least a week, until there are no more white patches in his mouth. Go to the health food store, buy some probiotic powder (or pills and take them apart). Rub some around his mouth, especially inside his cheeks, twice a day for a week or so. I found it was easiest to make a paste with a little water. This cured my son's thrush, but I did catch it early. Even if you need other medicine, you can keep using that and it will help.
Your doctor will recommend/prescribe one of three things. Gentian violet, nystatin, or diflucan. Gentian violet is an OTC dye you rub in his mouth twice a day for two days. Usually effective, but some yeast has become resistant to it. Nystatin is crap, IMO. Your son is supposed to hold it in his mouth and swish it around... good luck with that! Also, it contains sugar, to make the godawful stuff more palatable. But sugar is exactly what you don't want to give a baby with thrush! It's like inviting the yeast over for dinner. Some yeast strains have become resistant to it as well. Diflucan is a one or two dose oral medication that is very effective but is a more serious drug so they usually like to try other things first.

Both of my kids got this. Infact my sons is just getting over it. Boil All nipples, bottles and pacifiers for 10 min. I do 15 min just to be sure there steralized enough. You should do this often until its gone otherwise you risk giving it back to him. With dd I only did it once and then when it went away it came back because when she ate after they were steralized she recontaminated it and even though they were washed after she ate the bacteria tried to stay. After it was gone I continued to boil them (this time only 5 min) once every other week just to be safe

You can also just rinse everything with plain white vinegar. You don't even have to boil them if you use the vinegar because it sterilizes and disinfects.
