The first time Gav had his professional pics done he was 2 months. We got 3 good shots of him, the rest he was fussing or trying to sleep.

Olyvia's first professional pictures were at 3 months and she did really well. We took her to Picture People and they were great with her. They also reminded us that sometimes the best pictures can come when kids are crying or fussy and that we should be open-minded about the fact they may have more pictures like that than of her smiling. And really, a lof of really cute pictures are mid cry!!

We took Seth in when he was 3 days old. He did great, eyes open and everything. We had a few fussy ones. But more good than bad. I think she will do great.

That's one of my biggest worries to! I've brought my daughter in twice and both times she's been great. She sleeps in her car seat and when she first wakes up she is usually a pretty happy baby so I think that's why it works out well for me. It's also good to try and get a feeding in before you go so they aren't hungry and fussy there.

haha Aidan hated his and looks pissed in most of them... he had just woke up from a a nap and basically wanted to be held and played with so the fact that he had to sit by himself made him sooooo mad... we had to do the paci thing where i'd give him the paci then we'd count down to 3 and i'd pull it away real fast while she snapped the pic... honestly, i like the pictures i take just around the house better than some of the professional ones... theres only like 3 that really turned out good in my opinion, noone tell my hubby that though!! lol!!!

We don't have to worry about that because hubby is a pro photographer so we do it when she's in a good mood.

A good thing to do is to schedule it around her schedule.  Go when she's just had a nap and eaten.  That's the best time.  They will be more likely to cooperate then.

Only ONCE was Hailey too tired/fussy to coperate for pictures.. That was when we drove over an hour to have pictures made. Hailey didn't nap on the way there, so she was beyond cranky and wouldn't calm down for pictures..

I learned to schedule pictures AFTER her nap and to do them ALOT CLOSER TO HOME.

We found a good photographer is a very helpful tool in picture taking when she was a younger.. Nowdays..She needs a little prompting at first, then will start showing off/haming it up for the camera.

I was told at my last photo session that it helps for kids to be exposed to a photographer OFTEN and if not then most kids scream and are unhappy about having pictures taken. (I have my daughters milestone pictures taken)
