cord issues

im like 35 weeeks and im wondering if there are any ways that can cause the cord to wrap around baby's neck? i heard that raising your arms won't do it and i know that's gotta be true cause my daughter was fine, but i was just curious. i've heard of it more recently now as i read through the topics here and was wondering if there was anything to prevent it or if it just happens?

It just happens. There is no know cause for it happening and there is no way to prevent it.

nothing can prevent it, your baby does alot of tossing and turning and tumbling the womb.Somtimes all that activity causes the cord to wrap around the babys neck.

It's pretty normal. You'd be surprised at how high of a percentage of babies are born with their cords around their neck.

My first son had his cord wrapped around his neck, my midwife just cut it real quick and he popped out right after that. It wasn't a big deal since she was so calm about it.
