re: can you get disability for these diagnoses?

You don't need to have money for one. I certainly didn't. There are lawyers who will take the case and only get paid if they get you the disability. The court puts a cap on the percentage they are allowed to ask for as a payment from the money you get.

Also, would the judge or whoever handles this stuff potentially take my DD away if they think im 'too crazy' ?
Because if so, I'll just be poor and try to find another way to do something.

See your doctor again. It's really important that you have continuous care for your conditions. Most disability lawyers will not ask to be paid until you get your first back pay check.

So how do I go about all this?

You have to go in front of a judge to get approved or denied for a disability claim. The lawyer is useful because when you don't know all of the technical crap to say that the judge needs or wants to hear you get denied. It can take years to get approved sometimes. No. They are there to determine whether or not you can work. It's not a criminal case or anything.

The court gave me a list of lawyers in the area. I also grabbed the phone book and called the lawyers that said they handles disability. Most of them realize that if you're applying for disability you probably don't have the money to pay up front and get paid how I said earlier. I can't remember the term for it but if you explain what you are looking for when you call they will let you know if they do it or not.

Here we go down the the office and get forms the Dr and you fill them out and send them in for a review and with in a few days they call and tell you if you are approved for it, weither it is long term or short term. And if you get denied they give you a form and a date to complete a second opinon(from a higher up ) person who works at the disability office and they review it. And that is it.

If you get on it, after every 3 years they review your case to see if you still need it, and if your Dr thinks you do you stay on. And if the Dr thinks you dont, you start looking for work.

Can you still work and be on it there? We can here. You can make only so much and they just detuct half of what you make. Then you get the rest. 1 person on it gets 1000 a month.

Wow that sounds so streamlined. It's a freaking mess here. You can apply yourself or have a lawyer help you. It can take years just to get to court to have your case heard here. They review your case here too but it depends on how likely to recover the classify you to be based on your condition. You can work while on disability. If you work they just reduce the amount of disability you get but you end up with more then if you just took the disability (to encourage people to want to if they are able). The amount you get depends on how long you have worked. If you haven't worked you can get SSI instead of SSD but I think it pays less. $1000 for one person would pretty good here.

A friend of mine is on it..well her bf..but they have 1 child together. He is on it for alot of the reasons OP had asked about. But anyways he has been on it since he turned 16 and its for life.
But recently has been doing so much better in life that he is looking to go back to work (Im happy)
Anyways they get the standard 1000 a month but when you add 2 dependants on it her and their child, they get about 1200 a month. Which is nice (cost of living is high here) But when you add the standard 383 a month for child tax that we get, that they dont take off of your disability and the fact that we get hst and whats called a trillum fund here, people on ODSP here cleanup nice.

Same goes for are social assistance here they hand out alot of money from what I have learned about the US and other places people are from on here. I like to know these things, it facsinates me how so many places are so different lol

yes you can, i have issues too and I actually go for my hearing in 2 wks. you need to start seeing a dr first off so u can getit all updated etc, go to the socialsecurity website and file for ssi and for disablity. they will send you to their drs (which will deny you they always do for the most part) you will probably get denied and then start the appeal process, find a local lawyer that will accept the case (most will accept them if they think they will win them). Well there are none profit agencies in each county that will help you file. I am bipolar 1 with chemical dependancy. I basically have been told I will gwt it by the lawyers

Being in TN you will need to skip and just get a lawyer. My husband took 3 years without a lawyer and the judge was so upset that he was abused by the system by the time we got a lawyer he back dated everything to the date he was told he had MS. Just go to a Dr and they will look over your records make sure you have a Dr. that will write really well for the disability. My Hubby's first Dr. was stupid and his second won his case in no time. Keep copies of everything. Our lawyer was paid no more then a certain amount of money and they took it out of our lump sum. It usually takes two years from the beginning to the end for the disability but never refile just appeal. If you refile you lose your lump sum money when ever you start your paperwork and they receive it you will get paid from six months out. Every time you appeal it keeps it in the system if you refile it starts over...email me anytime on here and I can help at anytime.

Yes, u can get disability for all the above. Also sounds to me like you have agoraphobia. Which u can also get disability for. Here in mass all u have to do is go to your local disability office to apply or make an appointment first. You don't have to see a judge first to know if ur getting it but I do know all states are different. Sounds to me like u have a good enough case with out a lawyer. You may just have to see one of their shrinks + ur own therapist. All u have to do is sign medical release forms for all your drs including the ones who have diagnosed you with what you have. Good luck it's pretty easy to apply

u donot need a lawyer unless your case gets denied....but u need to be actively seeking treatment (therapy/medication). u need recent documentation that your ''disabilities'' effect your quality of life & your ability to work (even when recieving treatment). U will not get awarded ssi , if u arent attempting to get help for your disorders.....and when u do get awarded it, they may make u have another adult that is ''mentally stable'' be in charge of your funds. They will not take your daughter away if u are seeking help & dont pose a risk to her, yourself , or others.
