Birth Control

posted 16th May
So my doctor gave my a sheet with different types of birth control and he said to review them and to write down questions I may have for each and that he will answer them on my next appt. but untill then maybe you can help me out.

I know for sure that I don't want to get the depo shot nor the patch, I had though about using Mirena but I've heard from some people that it is very uncomfortable so I think maybe I'll take BC pills-Yazmin(sp?).
So what's your input on birth control methods?
Also has anybody heard about Essure? What I wrote below is all the info I got, is not much so I really don't get it. So if you can help please do. Thanks!!

Method:
Essure

How reliable:
99.8% at 1yr and 99.78% at 2yrs

What is it and how does it work?:
It is an alternative to a tubal ligation. The device is routed through the vagina, cervix and uterus into the fallopian tubes, where the devices are placed. No incisions are requiered.

Advantages:
Does not require an abdominal incision and can be performed without anesthesia. May return to work in 1 day or less after the procedure.

Drawbacks:
3 month waiting periodafter the procedure during which women must use another birth control.

Hmm..no I've never heard about it before but then again I've never used BC and the sheet my Dr. gave me doesn't have the names of the pills it just says pill, lol! I once heard about a pill that gives you (I think) only 3 periods a year and they said that it's bad, though I wish I never get a period again. So how does it work for you?
