Does your baby watch tv?

posted 12th Aug '12
Good morning!
What age did your baby start watching television? Like actually watch it and not just be entranced by sounds and colors. Every morning I put on Sesame St or some other baby show. Sometimes he will watch and sometimes he won't.

Right now he is laughing at the fishies on the tv

I use these few moments of peace to get some things done, like that overflowing basket of laundry in the background in desperate need of folding

And have my giant cup of coffee!

My son has yet to watch the TV he is almost 11 months. He rather me read him a book or play with his toys. In a way I am happy he does not but on the other hand sometimes I wish he did watch it because I would have more time to clean/cook.

This only lasts for about 10 minutes before he gets bored bahaha! Then I get on the floor with him and we play until his nap time around 9:30. We read stories every night before bed. It's kind of difficult though because he always tries to eat the books!

Your son is adorable!
We're not really TV people but my husband is ecstatic that our son loves watching Dragonball Z with him. lol I don't know what it is about it but it's the only show he actually focuses on and he'll cry if we pause it (no cable, just watch things on DVD.) Here is a pic of him watching it:

Sorry it's hard to see. He's at the bottom of the pic.

Aww! He is so itty bitty! I miss Rylan when he was that little and stayed where I left him
He is precious! And that's funny that he cries when you pause it!

I think DS actually just recently crossed the line of amazement, and actually started watching it at maybe 10 months. The only thing he'll sit and watch fully is, Little Einsteins. Any thing else, he loses interest.

My son watches tv but he only pays attention to a few programs. Otherwise, he's just off forging his path of destruction

lol Aw. I'm sure I'll feel the same way! Unfortunately he's mastered rolling onto his belly but can't go to his back again, so usually he'll be like that for a few minutes and then scream into the floor until I flip him onto his back again. And then he just rolls back over and we repeat the process...lol

I call my kid El Destructo. He is only a little over 6 months. I'll be carrying him and he will just stick his arm out and knock everything over in his path.

My almost 6 month old watches tv. She would rather play with her feet while doing it lol. She likes Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She can watch anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. But when she visits Grandma and her huge tv she is glued lol. I use that time to make breakfast and clean up if I can.

Yeah, no smurf. I can't wait for Spiderman/Batman stuff and other cool stuff. I'm afraid to have a girl, especially if she'd be anything like I was...I was a smart mouthed little smurf. I don't wanna deal with that. My mother laid the, "I hope you have a daughter just like you someday" curse on me too.

My DD loves Baby Einstein. She's been watching it for about three months now. She screams and laughs whenever there's a puppet there. lol
