I always told SO I wouldn't marry him b/c of how his mom is.... But we recently got engaged, and now I think it's hilarious that I'm going to marry him.

I'll be honest--I've hoped on a few occasions that her unhealthy lifestyle would catch up with her sooner rather than later ...if you know what I mean :-/

I have been with my SO for 8 years, still not married. I really dont want to get married and its not because of her but that MIL title she would have it the reason lol

They did if with SO's nephew too when he was around the same age. He called them " mom and dad " and called my SIL " grandma ". One of the most f'd things I had ever seen, but that was 3 years ago..
Her smurf started with me the day I went to bring DS home from the hospital after having my c/s and she decided she was going to pick out all his going home stuff and to choose that she didn't want photos of him done in the hospital. Since then she's just been a bitch, and also has gone out of her way to tell me " I'm nothing like her other DIL's, and Im the one who doesn't want to be part of the family "

Mine grabbed DD from SO and held her before I could even really SEE her for the first time.

I was LIVID. I had JUST come back from a C-Section, and there's MIL, holding DD. I still cry about it.

me too, still debating on marrying him , i dont want anything to do with her, especially her last name be mine.

OMG! i soo need this! lol SO and i rnt married but we might as well be so MIL is not quite a MIL but acts like it.

today she through a fit because i made MY son's birthday cake for his party 2morow and didnt ask her to, plus she is pissed cuz i did it at my mother's were i know her kitchen inside and out and could make it quicker and easier. its MY son's birthday cake, his FIRST birthday cake, im gunna smurfing make it were and how i please! lol

I spend every moment around her biting my tongue.
We've gotten into verbal arguments before...I still have never been able to say what I really want to her tho---someday........

We've been together going on 7 years. I never wanted to get married, either. We have twins together, though, and I do love him, so decided if I had to, he's be the one to marry. He actually surprised me when he asked, because he knew I didn't want to. Now I think of it like, he CHOSE to be with me, so it's like I win. Maybe it's a childish way to think of it, but sometimes you just gotta get down & dirty. lol

I know what you mean!! But I would like to have the same last name as my kids.
