Quoting BeccaSauraus:" well, 90% of babies born with tetralogy of fallot survive and live very healthy lives with surgery done ... [snip!] ... done while still infants. As for the medicine and the effects, it could go either way- either surviving or dying in infancy."

I just learned about this in class. This condition is completely treatable so I don't understand why they would recommend termination.

I'd love to see an update.

Wow, I am so sorry for just reading this now! Obviously, a serious of events has happened since. And for allwho have been wondering...... my little miracle is squirming in my arms as I am typing this! He was born October 14, and a pound less then 7. He really is my little miracle. Labor and delivery took a toll on him, and he had to be resesitated at birth and into an incubator. . he was also born with missing skin, cutis aplasia, in some areas on his body. The hospital I delivered him in had never seen this rare skin disorder, and he was transferred to the childrens hospital in the next state over. That itself was heart breaking considering I could not even hold or see him after all we had gone through the months before. I released myself the next day and spent a week with him in the hospital. After telling the doctors my history and after a series of tests, it was detected that the 6cm by 7cm area on his chest, the 3cm by 2cm area on his back, and the 2cm by 1.5cm on his arm,.... was from the injections. They are planning to perform plastic surgery along with his heart surgery in late Winter. The doctors at the hospital are actually writing a case study and putting us in the medical records books because of this crazy miraculous case. She told us that no one has ever survived the kcl and there were no known effects because of that. They are writing a story on it.

As of now...... he is snoozing off in my arms, at home. The skin areas, are forming into skin. Chest - .5cm x 1cm. Back- has now disappered. Arm- 1cm x .7cm. We go to the doctors next week, and by the looks of it, he will not even need the plastic surgery anymore! The missing skin, is now going away.. and he truly is a miracle. I love him with all my heart and he is mommy's little trooper. <3 Thankyou for all the support.. it really means a lot to know that so many people were following our journey.. i love and appreciate you all.
