Child support enforcement called me yesterday to tell me that the calculated amount of child support is 501, I still have to go to court on the 30th and I don't know of BD is going to show, but what should I expect? How long does it take to actually receive it?
Depends. the judge might go back and recalculate based on what they find to be appropriate and give him a mth or two to start paying up and they add like the back pay to each weekly amount etc. it takes about a month or two thou. With BD it was in effect ASAP but we signed outside of court.... our lawyers stated we were too "emotionally involved" (basically we were fighting w love & pain not reason) to go to court. we would have both broke down crying and the judge would have been asking wtf we didnt fix smurf versus fight like we do. so i say about a mth or two giving his financia situation and what not.
