I'm on it..
I didn't think it hurt very bad, however, it was sore for a little while.
They told me it was the most effective, and safe... so we'll see how it works! lol

I want that SO bad! My baby is almost 3 months and the stupid thing is still on back order at my OB's. I am on Yaz until then. Did they tell you if any women there are having weight gain or period probs?

they said the biggest thing is break thru bleeding for 4-5 months, but thats okay with me because my period is screwed up anyways, and just like all b/c it has side efect of possible depression and things like that, but its estrogin free which is something i've alwasy liked about certain birth controls.

I have wondered about this. I am thinking either this or the Mirena. i am just weighing the pros and cons.

omg, so on a scale of 1-10 how sore was it getting it implanted?
because Ive been seriously thinking of getting this after the baby is born, my OB told me it doesnt hurt, its just sapose to sting for a few and thats it.

well let me explain to everyone im a HUGE baby when it comes to needles.. it takes them FOREVER to get IVs in and draw blood.. but honestly the worst part was gettin the lidacain and that only stung as much as gettin blood drawn..actualy gettin it put in is only pressure, after the lidacain wears off its sore( i got a bruise) but otehr than that its not too bad. i took tylenol.

I have had mine since Feb. I Still have yet to make up my mind. I have tried many types of B/C pills. I went with this for ease I hate taking pills everyday. But I went from a 4-6 day period to a period for 7 days and spotting for 2 weeksafter that and a 3 week break in between. Knowing what I know now and how I react to this I probably would have just stuck to Yaz.I am going to give it 6 months and see if it gets any better. However I can say that I am using this as primary not a backup and Hubby hates condoms, so very effective as a primary. For you guys who are using as a backup and accidentally miss pills I would not worry.

I finally got mine!!! Yesterday and it did hurt. The lidacaine stung, I didn't feel the implant at all, but a few hours later I was SO sore. Today I have a bruise and some tenderness. The nurse at my OB said she got hers in Dec. and hasn't had a period since. That is what I am hoping for. To early to tell if I like it or not. But I can say it is better than taking a pill everyday.
