Anyone had PPROM or Weak cervix (IC)?

Hello ladies,
I am a mother to a baby boy Dallas who was born at 30 weeks. I spent nearly my entire pregnancy on hospital and home bedrest because of incompatent cervix (weak cervix) and had a emergency cerclage placed at 20 weeks. My water broke early at 27 weeks and I spent 3 weeks in the hospital before my son made his arrivial. My question is...are there many of you or know someone who has had a weak cervix and pprom'd ? My MFM doctor told me it was always a risk but never really gave me any answers. Can this happen again in the future? has this happened to you a second or first time?

Once you have IC it doesn't go away. The good news is now that they know you have it they can do a preventative cervclage which has a MUCH higher success rate.

I haven't been diagnosed but I have had a doctor suggest it being the case, don't really know but I've always had issues with my cervix shortening and opening early, I had PPROM with my first son at 30 weeks(2 weeks after he engaged), he was born at 36 weeks.
I had PROM with my second at 37 weeks, a week after he turned head down, labor was induced the next afternoon.
With my second I'd been in the hospital at about 20 weeks being 2-3 cm dilated but my cervix closed back up and lasted to term, I had ultrasounds on my cervix fortnightly, sometimes I was funneling but things were pretty good for the most part.

Sounds like you have it to be honest. Most of the time is happens earlier than your first 2 pregnancies but doesn't mean it doesn't happen later. I have a pretty severe case but my cerclage held awesomely!   Do they not put cerclages in there?

I've been told I could get a stitch, now she's unwilling too but what does it take to actually be diagnosed?

Cervical shortening with no pain or contractions. Other way is from a 2ND trimester loss our preemie where you open with out pain our contractions. A lot of time you will contract but usually once your membranes are bulging.

Oh ok, Yeah I get that and I've had a miscarriage at 15+4.
I don't know if that would be from a weak cervix? We thought it was from a fibroid since that was the only thing we knew was wrong.
I'm not sure, I was in pain by the time I was at the A&E and doctor said my cervix was open and membranes bulging, I'm not sure how long everything was happening for, it seemed very spontaneous as he was alive and kicked earlier that day.

Could be...my cervix was almost all the way open at 14else

I'm sorry   were they able to the cerclage?
Thanks for the info! I will talk to the OB about it and maybe theyll keep on eye on it?
I don't know, she told me its my body so maybe she'll listen and think about it?
It was a doctor in the A&E and one over in another hospital I was sent to that thought it was. They all work all the same head OB though since they just travel here.

Yes he had to pull in my cervix to make it long enough but got it in! My daughter is healthy and about to be 3!
