pinworms and pregnancy.....

ok so my son has an appintment tomorrow at his drs to get checked and see if he has pinworms. they told me to check his butt at night with a flash light. i notcied him digging at his bottom and called to see what i should do. they think its probally pinworms. my question is, does any one know the effects these little buggers could have on pregnancy? the dr told me that if he does have them that i couldnt get treated, so im just terrified now that it could hurt the baby im carrying or cause problems at birth if we do get it or already have it.........

i am sorry what is a pinworm?

I used to have them all the time when I was little. They usually stay in your intestines, but for some reason they ate some of my stomach lining. I'm not sure if they can get into your uterus. Just make sure you clean your, and your sons hands all the time. Also get him treated as soon as possible!

Oh and everything I've read said that the pinworms aren't harmful! Just irritating, good luck. . .

how do you know if you have them?

I thought I had them with my first pregnancy, and I took pinworm medicine. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to take it.

when i called the dr and was telling htem about what was going on, i told them that i was pregnant and they told me that i wouldnt be able to take the medicine for it. is there non medical ways to get rid of em? im pretty funny about my son taking meds, it took for ever for my husband to talk me into letting him have his vacines.

Hahah i am Scared that i am going to get pin worms too!!! i am a teacher and i have had many cases of it in my classroom and the doc told me that i could not take the med. either because it has not been tested on pregnat women..... but i dont want worms YUCK!
