LO's reaction to new baby

How did your oldest child react to having a new baby?
I'm curious as to how children react from being the only child to having a sibling.

My daughter is 4 next month and her little sister is due November 26th. I know she's excited and she kisses my belly all the time but I have a feeling she may have some serious jealousy because ever since she was born it's always been all about her. I lived with my parents the first 3 and a half years of her life and she was also the first and only grandchild up until April of this year, so she was SUPER spoiled.


How did you make it a smooth transition bringing new baby home and getting your LO's ready before baby was born?

I include her in our doctors appointments and she gets one picture of her own from each ultrasound. We talked about her being a big sister all the time.

My son was 26 months when Bethany was born. We bought a special toy for him that his sister 'gave' him when he visited her in the hospital. The first time he saw her, he kissed her and told her she was his sissy always. There will alwaays be the jealousy. But there will be tons more love!

My oldest is mean as heck to his lil brother i dont think he means to be sadly they are only a year and 12 days a part the second was a broken condom accident...so my oldest just doesnt exactly know better
