My daughter had this at her 20 week anatomy scan and by 36 weeks it was gone. My OB didn't seem really concerned about it so I didn't worry. She's now 3 weeks old and happy, healthy and completely perfect.
Quoting tinana +2:" My friend went through this with her daughter. She was advanced maternal age so they told her that it was a good chance that her baby had down syndrome. She's 3.5 months old and perfectly "normal"."
I was reading online that it can be a sign of down syndrome. I'll just hope for the best.
They found the same thing on my daughter during the anatomy scan. I was sent to a neonatologist as part of the "protocol" and she said that it is a very controversial soft marker. Especially if it is isolated, there really isn't legitimate scientific backing that you have an increased chance of having a baby with any chromosomal abnormalities. Of course I worried the remainder of my pregnancy, but she was absolutely perfect.
