Echogenic Foci in the left ventricle of heart

I'm 22 weeks along, at my 20 week ultrasound, they found a echogenic foci in the left ventricle of my sons heart.

Does anyone have experience with this? If you had this, what did it turn out to be? Or was it nothing?

My daughter had this at her 20 week anatomy scan and by 36 weeks it was gone. My OB didn't seem really concerned about it so I didn't worry. She's now 3 weeks old and happy, healthy and completely perfect.  

My friend went through this with her daughter. She was advanced maternal age so they told her that it was a good chance that her baby had down syndrome. She's 3.5 months old and perfectly "normal".

I was reading online that it can be a sign of down syndrome. I'll just hope for the best.

They found the same thing on my daughter during the anatomy scan. I was sent to a neonatologist as part of the "protocol" and she said that it is a very controversial soft marker. Especially if it is isolated, there really isn't legitimate scientific backing that you have an increased chance of having a baby with any chromosomal abnormalities. Of course I worried the remainder of my pregnancy, but she was absolutely perfect.
