Barfing....

I'm breast feeding my baby who is now a week old and I'm paranoid that after every feeding, she's going to barf all over me. At least once a day, she'll have a LOT of throw up come out and it's pretty gross. Is this a common thing? I think it's more spit up than vomit, but it's a LOT at times. I was supplementing for a while there but thought the bottle was the reasoning behind the problem... anyone else going through this and what helped? I know all babies are different, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem...?

She spits up often. As long as they're gaining weight and not pained when they do it (could be reflux if there is pain), I wouldn't woory !

Logan would spit up massive amounts every now and then in the beginning of being breastfed. He was guzzling too much down. It got better after a while and then he never spit up again.

A lot of babies spit up often and it's not really something to be concerned about unless they are losing weight. Don't worry because they will grow out of it eventually. Just keep lots of burp cloths handy.

Is it chunky? Or is it just like straight milk? If its chunky, then its throw up since its made it to the stomach and you could either be overfeeding or theres something thats bothering her tummy. If its just spit up, theres nothing to really worry about unless shes fussin along with it, or if she only does it laying down as it could be reflux. As long as shes gaining weight and it doesnt seem to bother her, then theres nothing to worry about.
So how is it being a momma??
