moving to MD update

i can't find my old thread =).


i just got off the phone with rob's probation officer, and she FINALLY got the paperwork! we have to be in baltimore by june 18th! =) so we're moving within the next month.

I totally understand. Nick (hubby) and I were stuck at his parents house for 6 months, and we just had Nick's room. We bought a townhouse finally, and I am in heaven. I hated living with his parents. Are you guys renting or buying?

well we're still living with family, since he's on probation one of his rules are that he has to live "supervised" until he gets off. so we're moving into his sister's basement apartment. 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and a living area. after december when he gets off probation, we're moving to orlando, though. probably rent until we both get out of school... then buy our own place in miami.

That is awesome. Nick and I were supposed to live in my moms basement apartment, but my mom's fiance wasnt having it. Of course she chose her fiance over us, so we were stuck living at his parents. I would definatly rather have been able to live at my moms until we could really get stable, but we are doing good on our own. Its scary though, its only been about a month so I dont think we have seen the worst yet.

lolol. i can't wait until we are on our own! i know it's going to be hard at first and we'll have to get used to it, but i think pretty much anyone with a reasonable income can make it!

Definatly. Nick only makes about 150-200 a week right now, and we are making it okay. I mean we dont have many extras but we have what we need to survive.

how much is your rent? rob makes anywhere from 600-700 a week and we can't afford a place down here! =(

yea, but look where you live! im sure rent is skyhigh in flordia!

We got it at an auction for 175,000. We are also renting the basement to a friend for 500 a month, so that helps a litte. We also got a really good interest rate 5.5%, our payments are about 1,400 a month. We had a little bit saved too before we moved in, so basically we pay the bills with what we have saved and then save everything for next months bills. I never ever want to live pay check to pay check, that terrifies me.

why are you moving to MD if you are just gonna move back to FL?
