help heartburn

Lately I have been having some SERIOUS heartburn. It would usually come for bout two minutes then I'll be okay. However, last night I ate chilly cheese fries, yes it was pretty late, and I've had heartburn all night til this very moment. Nothing seems to work I've been drinking water and everything NOTHING!! Not to mention I end up throwing it all up this morning(Tmi). I've definitely learned my lesson. So do any of you ladies know of a way to get rid of heartburn PLEASE???

Tums. I especially like the Smoothie ones!

I lived off of them with all my pregnancies.

I probably sound paranoid, BUT I had that problem for years, thought it was severe heartburn. It kept getting worse and more frequent. Then I couldn't eat cheese at all. Then it was anything with oil, or cheese. Then the list kept adding up.

Long story short, it ended up being my gallbladder and I just had it out on the 1st LOL.

What does it feel like? Where is the pain? And is it only after you eat certain foods?

It really only after I eat a certain food. Ive never had this problem before until I got pregnant. But to me it literally feel like my heart/chest is over an open flame lol best way I could describe it.

How bad is the pain? Are you like doubled over? Or does it just feel more like indigestion/burning?

Its tolerable just irritating. I would say some like acid reflux but I'm not too sure how that feels. I more of a burning feel then anything.

Yeah probably just heartburn then. You can ask your doctor what you can use, idk if they can give you the prescription stuff or not.

I have to take omeprazole...tums just won't cut it. Zantac is considered safe during pregnancy as well.

I too am a Tums believer, I eat them everyday, a few times, and the Zantac when it doesn't work. Also a glass of milk and a banana sometimes helps.
