Once it's done you can't go back. However, if you wait, if your son ever wants it does he can. Maybe get some real research online and show him and ask him to maybe think about waiting until your son is old enough to decide. I'm not going to lie, I do know guys who are intact and want to be circed but won't because they feel like they'd remember everything. Maybe sit down and do a pro and con list of it.

Before we knew DD was a girl I talked to both my parents and his mom about it and they both thought we should just circumcise the baby if it was a boy because it's "normal" and wouldnt even try to listen to how I feel and I doubt they will have changed their minds on it.

I just wish we could have a calm conversation about it so we maybe could come to an agreement either way.

My SO and I were having this same stand-off... I feel like it's so unnecessary and why cut something that was made that way? But our situation is a lot different because our baby has health problems and it will actually make more sense to circumcise him.... But if he had been 'normal' I think we'd still be arguing!

(Our baby has unilateral renal agenesis, so he only grew one kidney. SO and I talked and since being uncircumcised makes a higher risk for UTIs and bladder infections, which would hurt his kidney, I agreed to circumcise. Why make anything harder on his only kidney?)

Not trying to be rude but may I ask why your SOs are all so adamant on cutting off a bit of your sons penis?

My SO is circ'd, our boys are not. He wasn't pushing for it at all. And there is maintenance on a circ'd penis, SO gets dry skin on his on dry heated days and has to moisturise it.

we will being getting my son circ'd cause my husband is and would like his son to be. If my husband wasnt then i wouldnt get my son done.

Not taking up for the men who want their sons to get circ please don't take it that way..I am about to have a son and with out thinking twice I am ok with him being circ'd.. I know a guy who hadn't gotten his done and at 34 years old the skin started to split..he wound up having to get it done anyway.. If it isn't cleaned correctly it can cause a really bad infection..My sister has 3 boys..the first two were done and the third wasn't due to her not being able to afford it and he has a lot of problems saying it feels like something is sticking him down there..not to mention poor baby forgot to wash all the soap from down there and was in a lot of pain..I've also heard the older they are the worst it hurts for them..Not everyone agrees with getting it done..As far as your man telling you you don't have one so you wouldn't know.."YOU MAY NOT HAVE ONE BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN'T HAVE PART IN MAKING THAT DECISION" If I were you I would do a lot of research on the pros and cons of getting it done..print it up and show it to him..calmly ask him what reasons he feels that your child needs to have his done..may help you a little to get a better idea of what he is thinking and also be able to voice your reasons too..Good luck with it all
