stripping of the membrans~

Just a quick ??...How many centimeters were you when the docotor/midwife stripped your membrans and what was the out come???? My midwife said she would like to stripp mines at my next week appt so we could get the show on the road~

I had mine stripped today and was told I was 3-4cm dilated, 80% effaced, and that baby was engaged.

I've never had it done, but through my doctor you have to be at least 3cm dialated or showing other signs of labor being near

my Dr stripped mine last Wed. and I was 2cm and 70% effaced. It's painful and you will have some cramping, the next day I started losing my mucus plug but still no baby  I go back on Monday.

With my first child. I was 3cm, 75% effaced and -1 station. I was 38wks 6 days, I told the doctor I didn't want her to strip my membranes. I ended up going on my own 5 days later.

I actually just got mine stripped yesterday. I was 38 weeks & 4 days and 3, almost 4 centimeters. I think I'm still 50% effaced.My hospitalsaid they don't strip anyone's membranes until 36 weeks & on (I go to the hospital on Nellis Air Force Base here in Vegas). It hurt pretty bad when my doctor did it.So far, I haven't really had an outcome other than more leakage of brown mucous (I bled at first). But then again, unfortunatelyI can't check my own cervix to see if there's been any progress, lol.

can I just ask a different question..can they strip your membranes if you are not dilated at all?

That's pretty similar to mine. You had yourbaby 11 hours after your membranes were stripped. For me I went into labor 11 hours after my membranes were stripped!

I didn't even know I was in labor until my water broke at 1am! I thought they were just BH contractions. I had him at 1:39am.
