My name is Hanna I'm 19, I'm 39 weeks pregnant with my first baby, a baby girl. I'm so glad I found this site bc I thought I was going to go nuts after my check up today. So here's my problem I made a big mistake at my 1st doctor visit, I lied about my last period bc I was embarrassed that I had waited so long to go to the doctor. I told them it was 12/21/2011 but it was really11/02/2011. I conceived her 11/04/2011 and had a positive pregnancy test on 12/16/2011. My obgyn gave me a due date of 9/26/2012 which i new was wrong, that would mean she was conceived the END of dec. so I decided to wait until my ultra sound and I told the ultra tech the real dates and she gave me a due date of aug. 13,2012! Witch is exactly 40 weeks from my last period. Now today when I went into the doctor ( long story short) she's gong back and saying my due date is 9/26 are argued with her a lot but she just kept tellin me I could have skipped a period . HA I've never skipped a period ! Now I'm very worried bc my baby is almost 40 weeks and bc her due date was not correct she's not giving me proper care for 40 weeks.. She's treatin me as if I am 33wks lol I don't no what to do I keep telling myself it doesn't Matter bc shell come when she's ready! But what if sh doesn't? they're are so many risks wih post term labor I can't sleep I'm so upset with this and anxious!! I just don't no what to do! Any body have any advise ? This is my first baby i no I wasn't a perfect mom in the beggining it took me a while to accept the pregnancy but now I wouldn't change her for the world! Any similar mommys out there??

early ultrasounds are very accurate

If you had an early u/sit would be more accurate. But it is doubtful that you would have conceived 2 days after your period started.

are you sure that's when you conceived? you usually ovulate midway through your cycle. and like the others said, the earlier the ultrasound the more accurate it is.
OT but my names Hanna too

oh and don't be embarrassed about waiting. I did a looong time with my first because I was scared. Doctors are generally non judgmental and it's good to tell them the truth so they have as much info as possible.

No that's when I got off of my period I stared It 10/27/2011. That is what I don't understand I had an ultra sound done two days ago and she is 6lbs 15oz the u tech was very confident in my due date and today she suddenly changed it back. It makes absolutely no since. & worries me that I'm not getting the rite care

Ultrasounds are pretty accurate, with my last pregnancy i thought i conceived a month before i really did. Your doctor should also be measuring you and if you're measuring 33 weeks then you need to go ahead and listen to her, if you're that worried get a second opinion.

I didn't go to my first OB appt til I was 16 weeks (assumed) and wasn't really sure how far along or when I got pregnant. But with my 20 week scan baby was right on track. There is a big difference with 7 weeks growth in babies. I'm sure that they would have noticed if something wasn't right. Maybe you can ask for another scan so they can verify how big the baby is. A 40 week baby is bigger than a 33 week baby so they should be able to tell the difference.

Hmmmm. My last period with my daughter was 11/3/2010 and my due date was 8/10/11. I conceived her on the 17th of November. So if ur last period was 11/2/11 then ur due date would be 8-9-12. TODAY.

Oh yeah I told her a long time ago at my first ultra sound when I found out the sex! No that is when I got off my period. I understand that's what they are there for thats why I'm so upset bc I thought she would at least be monitoring my cervix to make sure. Even if she doubt my knowledge of when the baby was conceived.

You cervix doesn't need to be checked at all really. I would see about getting another u/s to confirm.

no she shouldn't be monitoring your cervix. Cervical checks can cause infections sticking their fingers up your vagina is unnecessary.

With my first i was 17, Almost 18, And was to scared to tell anyone at all, I kept telling myself that if i didn't believe it was happening, Maybe it would go away (Nuts i know!) So i didn't go see a doctor til my mother realized (It became obvious lol as pregnancies tend to do) And i was 6 months along, The doctor didn't judge or be in anyway mean to me, Just went about her business and organized an US for right away, It can be scary/embarrassing But you should always tell the truth, The doctor wouldn't have cared, But he would have had the correct information, And you would know when your baby is really likely to be due.
