Would you vote for a gay presidental candidate?

Would you vote for a gay presidental candidate?

Do you think there will come a day where America elects a gay president?
Would a candidate's sexual preference have any impact on your vote if you agreed with him or her on all the major issues?

Again, although I can't argue my stance on homosexuality I still feel that the law and religion have their boundaries of each other. I don't think laws should be based on any religious beliefs as a country is full of people of different religion or non-religious viewpoints.

So when I vote I don't even consider religious denominations [which is why I think people bashing Barak and Romney's religious affiliations is ridiculous]. Although sexual preference doesn't have much to do with religion I also don't think something as personal as that has any affect on a person's abilities to lead.

Absolutely! We've never had one before that we know of and who knows? A person isa person, regardless of their sexual orientation - being gay or straight doesn't make you any better (or worse) than the next guy, right?

But yeah, I'd vote for anyone I thought would benefit our country and help us to prosper.

i don't see why not.
to me it doesn't matter what the hell color they are, gender, and certainly not sexuality.
I just want someone who is capable.

I would def vote for a gay candidate!
I dont think someones sexual preference effects their intelligence.
Their personal sex life has nothing to do with me so I personally dont care if they are gay or not.

I agree-I don't care what religion or sexual orientation a candidate has, because it's a non-issue to me,and has no bearing on their ability to lead.

Yeah. I don't care what a person does in their romantic life. It's simply not about that.

I'm wondering what the people who voted "no" have to say about it.

Yeah, where are all the no people? I'd like to hear the other side of the argument.

There is no logical reason I can think of why someone's sexual orientation has anything to do with their ability to lead our country.

If there is a person our there running for president that I think is worthy, i'll vote for them. It doesnt matter what they do in life..and I certainly wouldnt vote for them just because they are gay. Thats like voting for a person just because they are female. lol. I voted no, because for one..I dont think voting even matters. and for second because being gay should have nothing to do with why they are running...it shouldnt be a factor. But..if I thought voting mattered, and the awesomest candidate was gay..heck yes I would vote for them.

i said yes....if someone has the qualifications and can do a better job than whoever else is running against him his or her sexual preference means nothing and will have little to no impact on how i vote.

I would absolutely vote for a gay president! I don't care what someone's sexual preference is... if I agreed with them on their issues and actually believed in them... you better believe I would vote for em! Now if I could really find someone who I believed and agreed with.... lol

Well, I'm not an American, but I imagine this question works just as well in Canada.

Better in Canada, probably. lol.

If he/she was the best candidate, I wouldn't care what gender, sex, sexual persuasion, religion, etc.

It always boggles my mind just how important the religious denomination is in the U.S.A. In Canada, I don't have any clue what religion any of our leaders belong to, because it just doesn't come up. Declaring a faith as part of your election platform is a liability in Canada, not an asset.

heh
