Quoting 1stTimeMommy083112:" My son is currently in NICU. I had him at 24 weeks, 5 days and he's amost 37 weeks now. I have LOST my ... [snip!] ... for him a 37 weeks, much less when he's older. Ladies, have any of you experienced this? if so, what techniques did you use? "
I would ask for reglan since you tried all the herbs. Its a medication you get from the doctor but its supposed to work magic for ones milk supply. Also, you wont become dependent on the herbs...you can take them until your baby comes home and you guys can work on latching together(which may take quite sometime but it's worth it). I wouldn't give up quite yet. Remember; ANY breastmilk makes a difference even if its only a few oz /bottles a day. It all helps their immune system and helps them digest whatever amount of formula they get especially with being born early.
Make sure to go ask for reglan mama. It should help a ton.
You are not a failure for needing to suppliment. You are amazing for trying as hard as you are and I think with work it will pay off. Also, I would get your thyroid checked. It can decrease your milk supply. Many woman have this problem after labor. <3 I hope some of this advice helps some. I bet it is so stressful but just keep your head up and give what you can. 2oz id better then nothing mama.
One last thing, are you open to donor milk?
HM4HM and eats on feets offer free donor milk and you can meet the donors.
They have facebooks and you can go and meet other woman with babies and find someone who can help. <3 Good luck.
