Forever Hate Dr. David M Barrere from Christ Hospital in Cin

posted 8th Aug '12
I got horrible news at the Dr. today since I had surgery in April on my uterus the Dr. forgot to inform me from that surgery on I will forever need a C-section! So there goes my plan of a water birth or any more natural vaginally deliveries as I am custom to! I hate Dr. David M. Barrere for the rest of my life!!!!!!

I get you're disappointed but as long as your baby is healthy who cares. I labored three days no drugs pushed an hour only to have a csection. My next baby went in for a dr visit was rushed off to a csection. This will be third csection I was disappointed with the first one glad my baby didn't die with the second one and now idc as long as my kid is healthy

If you needed the surgery regardless, why hate the doctor? Its not his fault.

I get the disappointment. I NEVER had an option of having anything but a c-section. It still bums me out sometimes, but it is what it is. Yeah, the doctor could've told you, but you probably also should've asked just in case.

its not his fault, and without him you probably wouldnt be pregnant right now, and this is a public forum, you really shouldnt use his name, he didnt do anything wrong.

I'm not sure how different it is in the states, but in ontario canada, or at last from majority of the women I know, as long as you wait 2 years (that can be the nine months included) than you can have a vaginal birth. my sister in law hd to have a csection for her 2nd baby and waited a little longer for 3rd ad delieverd him vaginally. It all depends on your o.b and how well your body has healed.

that's crappy :-( and i totally get your disappointment. I don't know what I would do...were you not well informed, or did something go wrong with your surgery? that's something that your doc should have discussed with you prior to the surgery or at least told you directly after.

I didnt have to have the surgery ... fibroids can stay in your uterus .. yes I bled for 18 months straight so thats why I was a prime candidate for the surgery. But I asked my dr. if this would be an issue for my next pregnancy and he stated since he was going in vaginally and not through my abdomen that I would have no problems with future deliveries .... yet now I am being told he did the procedure differently and cut into my uterine muscle weaking it and there fore c section from here ... even at my week check up after surgery I asked him what the baby making process looked like from here and he said everything was fine etc ... yet now when my midwife reviews the notes and notice exactly what he states he did during the procedure its VERY different then his word!!!

I will shout his name from my roof top at this point!!! We had this discussion at my consult , before surgery and after !!!! Was this procedure going to affect my delivery process with future births and he stated on multiple occasions that everything would be fine ..... Yet now that Im pregnant and was planning a water birth I am being told if I try natural I have a HIGH RISK of my uterus rupturing and if that happened Id have 3 minutes to get the baby out before the baby and I die.

I am not going to opt to refuse the c section and possibly harm myself and my child for my desire of a natural birth. An I understand to those that have never expierenced a natural birth a c section seems like no big deal. But to me the reason this is such an issue is I asked Dr. Barrere over and over about the chances possibilities etc and he never once stated there was an issue! Now he has made the decision for my body to not be able to deliver how I see fit .. he took my right away as a woman and mother to make my own decision on labor and birth ... that is the issue!! He had NO right to make that decision!!!! An if it was necessary like once he started the procedure he realized there was a need for this extra cutting etc then at my check up a week later he should of let me know instead of saying Oh all is well go back to your normal routine of life!! I plan to view my medical chart and see if some where on the paper work for surgery it states the risk of possible weaking of the uterine muscle and need for c section etc and if it has no clause for any of that I plan to SUE him!!! He had no right to make that decision on my behalf and he did have an obligation to let me know after he made that decision that he had done so with a reason as to why he did not do as I signed off for him to on my surgery papers which was a fibroid removal and complete d n c !
