Legal or illegal military

I have my maternity shoot today, my SO wants me to wear his Marine (formal! Jacket in some of the photos with his medals.
Someone told me it was illegal..
I'm not wearing anything else like his hat or pants.
I wish he had his hat but he lost it :/

Anyways can I, I don't want him or anyone to get into trouble.
He is out of the marines now if that matters.

It's not illegal, but if he's still in the military, he could get in trouble. Unlikely, though.

It's only illegal if your trying to pass yourself off as military, to use it as a prop is not illegal. Since you are not wearing the entire uniform (and it's male not female uniform) it will be ok.

Its not illegal, especially if you're not wearing it to impersonate a soldier *which isn't illegal anymore either b/c of congress
