has anyone had to circ a older child?

i would like advice on how you dealt with it.. i have to circ my 5 year old son.

oh no! why! nope, but im having a boy.

The little boy I nannied for is 8 and just had to get circ a month ago due to not keeping it clean

because it got inflamed and then it adheared to at the tip. now it hurts for him to pee.

i had a friend who had to get it done in middle school. nobody knew why he was out of school for like 2 weeks til he told us when we got older

was his fully retracted?

Poor baby, I hope it's a quick and easy process for him! Sorry I'm no help.

My mom did not circ my Two brothers....the one is 21 now and he says girls think its weird, so he is getting his done next month....i dont think thats the greatest reason for doing it but he feels insecure about him self...so im not sure you could be saving them by doing it now than later???

I did alot of research when we were deciding whether or not to circ and ultimately decided to do it at birth because of the issue you're having now. It tends to be alot more traumatic and painful when a person is older.

that sucks.

My baby (who is a little over a week old) has to go get his done at 6mths b/c his foreskin was too small and the doctor didn't feel comfortable cutting it. Not sure what is worse, getting it done as a newborn or when they get older. I'd like to hear how your experience goes if you don't mind. I've been worrying about it myself.   Poor little guys, they just can't catch a break.

No it wasn't. His recovery was pretty painful for the first two days after that he was back to normal and running around playing.

My uncle had to do it when he was 30.. He's said it was the most painful thing in his life  

This is why Im glad I did my sons at a day old. I've heard people say it is traumatic for them and they'll remember that pain.. but thats BS .. I asked my little brother if he remembered the pain he laughed at me hehe
