I babysit a set of triplets and a set of 2 brothers, well their birthdays fall within a week of each other. I have been invited to both of their parties and intend on going, but money is really tight. They are both getting kitchen sets (a boy and a girl one for the triplets) for their birthday from their parents. Is it a lame gift if I made them play food for it out of felt (make pizza slices, mashed potatoes made to be fluffy with stuffing in it, corn with a pat of butter, etc) and then went to the dollar tree to get them some little pot holders and plastic plates (with characters so they can still be cool for them). Their parents said to get them kitchen stuff when I asked what they need.

Homemade gifts are the best!

But I also love homemade gifts. I love the time and thought put into them than just running to the store and grabbing something.

I figured that it would also be something I could do more detail on. The kids love pizza, I would do at least 10-20 options.

That would depend on if thats something they like to do and enjoy doing. My friends daughter is three and she LOVES playing with her kitchen sets. She got it for christmas last year and just about everyone got her little kitchen stuff from the toy department to go with it! She dont really play with anything else besides her babies. If thats something the kids wanted I dont see it being a lame gift if they dont want it or like stuff like that then yes it would be a lame gift. Its kinda hard to vote because it would depend on what the kids enjoy doing.
