SO SO upset with my doctor. Need advice. :[

This whole pregnancy, I have had a C-Section scheduled for May 20th. A couple weeks ago, my doctor said that I could try a vaginal birth if I wanted to. So we cancelled the C-Section. I was told by another doctor that the date of May 20th would still stand, I would just be induced.
I went to the doctor yesterday, and she says, "No, we are just going to wait for her to come out on her own."
Than she walked out of the office, not even giving me a chance to say anything. My baby has to have surgery when she's born, and I'm not comfortable "waiting" around because we live almost 2 hours away from the hospital. I wanted this all planned so we weren't waiting around. Her suggestion was to get a hotel room for a couple of weeks before. Um. I'm sorry. Would you like to pay for that for us? Hotels in Washington DC are like 200 a night, easy.
The Ronald McDonald house won't even work with us until she's born, and all the bases around here are just about as expensive as the hotels.
I mean, we have money- but not enough to spend 100-200 a night on for two weeks.
So here's my question- should I push this with her? I've been more than polite, and I've never argued with anything she has suggested or had to say. But this is just not cutting it for me. Orr.. am I just being whiny and should I just hope we don't go into labor when traffic is bad? (Which is almost always.) Anyone who lives in the Northern Virginia/DC area knows what I mean.
Sorry... it was kind of a half vent/half I have no clue what to do about this all post. Oh, and I'm dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced already. I've been like that for like 10 weeks. Ugh.

You're not having your baby @ Mary Washington? Is there a better NICU somewhere up in DC then?
I'd definitely voice my concern with the OB.. That's a bunch of bullshit, sorry, that she would suggest to a prospective new parent that she should stay in a hotel for a few nights before coming in to have her baby.. Money is precious when starting a new family.. What a betch!

Oh no, I would be demanding an appointment just to talk and tell her that you don't have the funds to take a two week vacation awaiting babies birth.Tell her that you would have went with the c-section had you known she would blow you off.Maybe she was just having a bad day but I would soooo persist til you either get an induction date or a c-section date!

I would absolutely push the issue. Explain your situation and that you're not comfortable with waiting. It seems like you've got enough on your plate without worrying about getting to the hospital on time. It's your baby and your body mama, speak up!

All these ladies have it right. You should call back and ask to speak to your doctor directly!

We were already at Georgetown before we had to move, and the surgeon/specialist that we wanted to do her surgery is through Childrens Hospital, but works out of Georgetown.
We explained this all to her before we moved, and she said it would be fine since we were inducing. Now all of a sudden she is changing her mind.
Mary Washington would just transport the baby to Childrens for the surgery anyways. I didn't want to have to put her through that.
But thank you.. I'm going to call her AND the surgeon.

Thank you! I just needed someone to help me grow a pair for a minute so I can call and stand up to her. I just didn't want to be "one of those".. ya know?

Ahh I see.. Totally understandable.. You have every right to confront this lady.. How freakin' unprofessional to tell someone "stay in a hotel until you go into labor".. WTF crawled up her ass?

Girl here you can borrow my pair for the weekend I won't need them lmao. Hubby says mine are bigger than his some days b/c I don't take crap from people often. Especially with this, your child's LIFE? WTF? She must be smoking some good junk! I would get downright rude if I had to, but hopefully it won't come to that. Just let her know you're more comfortable having things planned and you would either really like the induction or the c-sec. And stand firm!! Do you need to borrow my husbands pair as well so you can have twice as many??

I need all the pairs I can get.. haha Thank you.
I did snap at a lady on the elevator for telling me how big my baby was gonna be. I asked her how far along she was (she was noticably not pregnant, just bigger)
Felt good. So Ima try some of that on Dr. Bolan.. lol

Hun, bubby has enough of a fight on her hands when she gets here due to her condition... I its really what you want I would DEMAND the c-section...
I think that its your baby and if a vag birth is going to put her in any extra stress or danger there is no option....Id be really pissed off...

atleast demand a c-section my daughter was high risk & my water broke 3 weeks before I had her. They didn't do anything just let her come on her own & she had so many problems besides the tumor they found when I had my first ultra sound. She ended up with lung problems & she started forming a clef lip so now we have to take her to a specialist for her lungs & to a doctor to close her hole right inbetween her nostiles.

This is YOUR baby and the doctor works for YOU. You are the one paying them. It's your choice how you have this baby. If they plan to pay for everything, help in raising the child, college funds, etc., then they can voice their opinion. Till then you can just matter of factly tell them how it's going to be. What ever your heart desires, this is YOUR pregnancy and YOU know what's best for you, your family And your baby.
Best of luck!!!!!!
