Gallstones during pregnancy
posted 16th May
i mostly wanted to post this so it would be in the archives in case future gallstone / gallbladder sufferers came here looking for answers. The long and the short of it is basically this, IF you can find a doc to operate on your gallbladder (i.e. take it out) he will most likely only do it during your second trimester. The first trimester is too risky and in third your uterus is way too big for them to get in there and do what they need to do. I was 38 weeks when my gullbladder started to attack and I couldn't find anything on the internet about whether or not they would operate so I wasted my time and money and got my hopes up going to a doctor only to be told that not only did I have to suffer but that I would also have to give birth while suffering!!! So, I'm sure everyone will read about me in the papers "Pregnant woman rips off man's head"
If you are suffering, I feel your pain! Good luck and PM me if you need to talk or vent.
