Like I said in my other response I don't exactly remember where I seen it, maybe thebump.com or I could be pulling it out of my ass. I really couldn't care less, I probably am wrong considering I probably seen it on the Internet. Maybe if it's that important to you, you could look it up.

look, i agree that it's not very likely someone will hear the heartbeat on the outside. but i too have seen it stated on a pregnancy website and i THOUGHT it was this site actually. not a thread, but the week by week things. i'm not finding it right now so maybe it was a different site. but i've seen it too, i promise. i remember thinking that was so cool and trying to have SO do it. didn't work, lol. i think you'd have to be extremely thin and baby's chest would have to be right there where you listen.

I too have heard that it is possible for someone I hear the heartbeat with a Doppler which is obviously how the Doppler rentals are so popular. I have also had an experience when I was pregnant with my first where my sister in law was actually able to hear LO with a stethoscope.

It's not a big deal if you believe that person to be wrong and no one needs to give you proof of smurf. get over it...move on.

Op is obviously not an actual person with a true story so why Keep the thread going with your damn "I need proof" crusade.

Maybe you should go back and re-read some smurf... They aren't talking about being able to hear the heartbeat with a doppler or stethescope, they are talking about being able to hear it by just putting their ear up to the belly which I find pretty unlikely since there is so much between the baby and the outside of the stomach (fat. muscle, uterus, etc.)

Fact remains...it's possible either way, unlikely but possible.

Learn to read. No one said smurf about using a Doppler. I have my own so I know its true. Take your smurf else where.

Not sure why an OB would yield a urine test at 30 some odd weeks... for proof? Typically they'd just write something, yeah?
