How big was your baby.

How much did your first weigh? My midwife estimates my son is going to weigh around 8lbs 6oz, is that really big? Course she could be way off.

He was born at 36 weeks and was 8lbs 6 ounces. He was the biggest baby in the NICU by 3 lbs.
He is now 5 weeks and 11lbs 4 ounces, lol.
8lbs 6 is considered a little bigger than average I think but its not huge. And like you said it could be off. Id she basing her guess on measurements of your belly or ultrasound?

all were born at 39 weeks, and were 9 pounders. My last being the biggest, 9lbs 5oz. LOL

My 1st was 7 lbs 15 oz(estimated at 8 lbs 11 oz) at 40 wks 6 days. My 2nd was 10 lbs 0.8 oz at 40 wks 1 day. And even though my 2nd was bigger he did less damage to me lol.

My first was estimated to be 6.5 lbs, and she was 8.
My second was estimated to be about 8.5lbs and he was 9lbs 8oz, lol.

First was 9lbs, 12oz. (born at 39 weeks, 1 day)
Second was 7lbs, 13oz. (37 weeks, 2 days)
They told me at 36 weeks with my son that they think he would weigh about 10lbs at birth, they were pretty accurate. If he were born on/after his due date, I'm sure he woulda reached 10. My daughter was measured the night I had her, told me she would weigh 9lbs, they were pounds off.
But to answer your question, 8lbs is a little big. Not big, big, but not small. Lol, if that made sense.

First was 8lbs 5oz, it's a nice size, not too big and not too small.
