Breast milk and outings.

posted 16th May
Okie dokes, I've been pumping and feeding my little girl with a bottle and getting her used to it (thanks ladies for the advice on using the Avent bottles, it was a lifesaver) since my parents will be watching her when I go back to work. What I was wondering was, what if my parents want to go out somewhere? How are they supposed to warm my breast milk when they are, for instance, at the mall? ANY advice on how to use your breast milk on outings would really help a lot.

alot of ppl i know just give their baby their breastmilk or formula at room temp now and dont warm it up.

in my case, i just pump a bottle, put it in her diaper bag and head out the door. i dont warm it while were out. she'll drink it either way. when im at home, i just pump a bottle and give it directly to her. the only time i'd warm a bottle up is if its been refridgerated.

if they are gonna take a bottle directly out of the fridge, then have them either warm it up before they leave by running it under hot water for a few min..or have them buy a traveling bottle warmer (or w/e they call them)

Every time we went out to eat, I asked for a glass of hot or boiling water that was only 1/3 full. Stuck the bottle in and stired the milk every 30 seconds until it was warm enough.
Gotta warn you though, it may take up to 5 minutes. It all depends on how hot the water is. So warm it up before she starts asking for it.

Ditto to that! But we also gave my inlaws or old bottle warmer to keep on hand at home if they would be watching our son for a couple of hours.
