I feel that I've broached this issue before (and I don't mean just now in another thread, heh), but as I can't find the thread, I'm going to make a new one.

It's been said that homosexuals should not/cannot get married in the Christian church because homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God.

The passage that confirms this is Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

So, if homosexuals cannot marry in the Christian church because homosexuality is an abomination, then it follows that any other abominations listed in Leviticus should be disallowed from marrying in the Christian church as well, because as all Christians will tell you, you cannot pick and choose which parts of the Bible to believe in and which to not believe in.

So, we move to Leviticus 20.

Leviticus 20:13 reinforces that homosexuality is an abomination:

[13] If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Leviticus 20:25 states that eating any animals that have been marked as unclean by God will also render your soul abominable in his eyes.

[25] Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

So, according to Leviticus, which is used to support the belief that homosexuals cannot marry in the Christian church because it is an abomination to God, eating pork is also an abomination to God.

Therefore, if homosexuals cannot marry in the Christian church, then neither can anyone who has ever eaten pork, as both have committed an abomination in the eyes of God. Again, as all Christians will tell you, all sin is equal in the eyes of God, and you cannot pick and choose which parts of the Bible to follow. So, if we deny homosexuals the right to marry in the Christian church because of it's status as an abomination, we MUST also deny anyone who has eaten pork to marry in the Christian church.

Please discuss.

It doesn't say that if you commit an abomination then you cannot get married. Maybe I'm just confused, but it seems like you're trying to say that since eating pork is an abomination, then people who have eaten pork should not be able to get married in the Christian faith. But what does pork have to do with getting married?

Nothing, it just says you can't get married in the christian church pretty if you pretty much don't follow the bible, which states eating pork is a sin.
