that is the set of bottles i have (wide). the standard tried to drown my first baby, but later she liked them. but the wide is more set for newborn+ whenever i looked at the nipples up close.

u dont need 6-8 bottles for nighttime feeding. 3 are enough. What my kids would do when they were newbies was they would drink @ 10 PM, I would wash all three bottles, the next time they would wake up would be 2:00, one bottle gone. Then at 6:00 they would wake up, second bottle, and then at 10:00 AM, third bottle. I would be washing my bottles anywhere between 11ish till 1ish...and then my kids would drink again @ 2, then 6, then 10. now obviously they werent robotic and didnt drink at that exact time, but around that time they would. And I only needed to wash three bottles twice, once after 10 AM, and once after 10 PM. 3 bottles worked like 6, but I saved half the money, and distributed the time for washing 3 bottles twice instead of 6 bottles at once. Sometimes I would use only one bottle during the day and wash that after every feed, that way bacteria doesnt build up, and exactly how long does it really take to wash one bottle, especially if the milk is still fresh. AND if theyre plastic bottles, they stink BAD even if theyre washed after a day! I used glass in the beginning, so they never stank, but I would still wash them promptly during the day, and wash them in the morning for the nighttime bottles. It really only takes a minute to wash one bottle! I actually found this technique very useful for me. And no I was not free all day, I had lots of stuff to do too, but I think it's more difficult to take out time to wash 6 bottles at once instead of washing one after every feed, during the day of course. Now remember, my kids were formula fed, I cant really say anything about breastfeeding moms, but this is how I did it.

1-2 bottles would not be enough. DD at 6m drinks 5-6 a.day. and we are out most days so I make 8 to be safe plus bring extra formula to make if I need it.
I have 24 bottles.....but I haven't used any 4oz bottles since she.was.2m old. That's when she started drinking 6oz but now drinks 8-19oz every 3 hrs sometimes every 2 hrs.
I wash bottles every night before bed and its not gross. She uses drop in bottles and.after every feeding I throw out the bags.
DD also goes to dads every Sunday.so I make 8-10 to go with her just in case...you never now when a growth spurt will hit.

Lmao my mum told me I only need 2-3 I was like o_O I dont want to be washing bottles ALLLLL night like I did with my first, smurf was crazy.
I'm going to be very prepared with this baby.

Good for you if you want to wash and sterilise one bottle every few hours.
I'd rather have 18 bottles than 2 or 3.
I wash them once a day at night.

It's called rinsing.. You fill the bottle with hot water, rinse any milk out. Then refil with hot water. And wash all together once a day in hot soapy water. Then sterilise.
Idk what bottles you use but mine don't smell.

Until she was 12 months. Lol I know it's not necessary but it just became habit.

I breastfed, but had to pack bottles for daycare. He usually ate 3-4 bottles a day there, so I used the 4 dr browns bottles I got from my baby shower for that. I ended up having to buy the extra storage lids for those because they leaked breastmilk and I cried because I worked to hard to pump it and keep enough for my son stocked up. I ended up switching to the playtex air vent and only kept i think 3 or 4 of the smaller size and the same with the larger ones. That was plenty for me because I just had to wash them once in the evenings and repack the breastmilk for the next day. My son switched to formula at 8months due to biting and I felt stupid buying more bottles that late, so i just kept what I had and it worked.

i still think 24 bottles is a bit much...but hey, we all have different lifestyles, and different needs, I was just giving my opinion that I certainly did not need more than three bottles at a time.

How often did your daughter drink at night? See my kids would sleep for 4 hours straight before they would wake up and be hungry, so 3 bottles was enough for me.

I dont sterilise my bottles every time. I only sterilise the first time, because after that you're washing them with soap anyway, and because I wash them right away during the day it doesnt need to be sterilised.

I used to use Nuk First Choice for my daughter, and then later on I switched to MAM Ultivent because of the BPA study. If milk gets left in a plastic bottle too long it starts to smell like milk. I used glass with my son, and they never smell, no matter what u do. BUT, some women dont rinse their bottles out. And like I said, everyone has their own lifestyle and needs, but according to mine I could manage with 3.
